Decisions on Strategy…
Now is the point in the season where you should be considering a change in strategy to a more focused effort on accruing points as opposed to accruing value—a major focus during the first half of the season. That said, you still want to be careful with contracts as not to lose value during the tail of the season, so here are our current tips on driver values.
Driver Salary Storylines:
We can’t keep Logan Sergeant off of our updates! He proved in Monza that, should be able to keep finishing races without mistakes, he is most certainly underpriced. We’ve been tracking Logan for the past two races here in the newsletter. Given the gap between him and Albon, we know he had a lot of upward salary potential, but the verdict is still out on whether or not he can be consistent enough to capitalize.
Sargeant is now priced at $6.6M, which is tied with his second-highest salary peak of the season. Our outlook: When comparing Albon to Sargeant, it’s clear that Logan has a lot of room to grow, but we wouldn’t bet on him moving any higher than the $12M mark, and even that would require consistent midfield finishes for the next several races. Add him to your lineup if you have faith he can do that.
Albon vs Sargeant Fantasy Salary
Albon continues to surprise us. Last week, we predicted that Albon would probably reach a peak salary. And we said “probably” because F1 is not as predictable as some people claim (outside of anything Max-related.) Albon surprised us by increasing another $2M in value last week at Monza!
Albon finished the last races at 7th and 8th place. The default salary on GridRival associated with 8th place is $21.1M. This means if Albon keeps this up, his salary will continue to creep upwards towards the end of the season. If you put (or keep) Albon on your team for the purpose of gaining value, you’re making a big bet on him continuing to finish in 8-10th place.

Albon Fantasy Salary
Underpriced Watchlist:
Russel is still near a season-low. If he can keep finishing in 5th as he did at Monza, there is most certainly upside.
Stroll is tied with his Lowest Salary of the Season.
Overpriced Watchlist:
Verstappen, Perez, Hamilton, and Alonso will certainly be great choices in terms of fantasy points potential. However, if value is of greater consideration for your team, consider that none of them have much upward salary potential compared to others on the grid at this point in the season.
Gentle Reminders:
Don’t wait until Saturday to fill out your lineup. Get it done early. You can change it as much as you want until qualifying starts!
