Brazil F1 Fantasy League Preview

The Brazil GP is here! Below are thoughts from the GridRival team on how to set yourself up for Fantasy F1 success on GridRival this weekend!

Driver Salary Storylines:

Fernando Alonso - We already had him as a value last week, but now we get him at an even larger discount in Brazil. He’s back in talent-driver territory at $17.8M, and if you believe his last few performances have been that of the “unlucky” type, he’s most certainly a pick you should consider. He was up in P6 in Qatar before his unfortunate retirements at COTA and Mexico. It’s doubtful he has a DNF three races in a row, so the value here is potentially significant.

Alonso Fantasy Salary

Sergio Perez - Speaking of DNF, what a brutal end to Perez’s home race before it started. Two of his last four races have ended in retirements. But at $20.4M, how far can his price fall? Assuming he doesn’t suffer another unfortunate DNF, there is almost no chance it will continue to drop. Get him now before he puts together a big performance.

Perez Fantasy Salary

George Russell - If we’re looking purely at stats, Russell is a discount. With an 8-race average of 141 points, he sits higher than Hamilton, Leclerc, and Perez, yet is priced lower than all 3. Russell is a safe play for the remainder of the season.

Russell Price vs Others

Underpriced Watchlist:

  • Nico Hulkenberg has strung together two decent performances, finishing 11th and 13th respectively. He might not have the car under him to be the qualifying hero he was early on in the season, but he’s a reliable driver who can put up points on the cheap.

  • Yuki Tsunoda qualified 15th in Mexico but had to start at the back of the grid due to taking on a new power unit, and he worked his way back up to 12th by race end. Alphatauri has shown some serious pace, so he and Daniel Ricciardo should both be considered as your talent driver.

  • Once again, Logan Sargeant makes this list for people looking for cheap points. Despite starting in 19th, the rookie had made his way up to P12 before a fuel pump issue forced him out on lap 70 of 71.
